A Fun Evening at the Park!

On Thursday evening, we decided to take the kids to Municipal Park and play and feed the ducks. It was a great evening, there was hardly any people there and the temperature even cooperated!! First, we let them play at the playground. They had a blast running around, sliding, and playing on the equipment.

They loved spinning on these (they were like stand-n-spins):

After they got tired of spinning, we decided to go swinging! The kids got to swing first. Then, Dustin got tired and didn't want to swing anymore, so I got in his swing. I love to swing, it is so relaxing. I was going to swing myself, but Dustin started pushing me and I wasn't going to deny my child!!

When we were all finished swinging, We went to feed the ducks. We found a Mommy Duck and her babies. They were so cute and hungry, so we fed them lots of bread!!

After feeding the babies ALL the bread, we went to supper ourselves at CiCi's! It was truly a fun-filled evening!!

On Friday, I decided to bake cupcakes. Now, usually I put the icing on the cupcakes for the kids, but figure they are able to do it themselves now (and probably should have been letting them for awhile). So, after they were cooled, I gave them each their own spoon with icing on it and they had a blast!

And we all had a blast eating them!!

Dustin is Loving School!!

Dustin started the Summer Kindergarten Bridges Program this week. And he is enjoying it!! On Sunday night, we got his clothes ready for his "Big Day" on Monday. I am so hoping I can keep that up during the real school year!

On Monday, Dustin got up so excited. He got up and ate breakfast.

And then got dressed. He was so excited about putting his new backpack on, and carrying his new lunchbox.

Of course, I took him on his first day of school! He was so excited and walked straight to his teacher when she called his name. When he left to go to their room, he gave me a thumb's up and big smile!! I was relieved that he was excited to go to school!!

Shelby and I worked at the school, while Dustin was in school. And then it was time to pick him up. I was just like all the other Mommy's and got in Car line and waiting to pick him up like all the other boys and girls. Here is a picture of Dustin waiting for me.

Dustin was so excited about being at school and told me when we got in the van that after nap can I come back. I told him that we would come back tomorrow after bedtime! Each day, he still asks if we can go back tomorrow! I love that he is so happy to be going to school!

On Tuesday, Corey took Dustin to school and Dustin was so excited!

He also had Bear day at school and got to take his bear to school.

He had fun today doing all the bear activities: they read "Courderoy" and made a courderoy bear, they graphed gummy bears and they made a bear book.

On Wednesday, they continued their bear day. Today, Dustin took Pooh Bear.

And this morning, he wanted a picture with Daddy. So, we took Dustin and Daddy's picture together before Daddy took him to school again!

Dustin had another great day. Today, they made a bear hat and another bear out of beans! He is still asking can he go back tomorrow! I am still loving that he is loving school!!!

After taking all these pictures of Dustin and him going to school. Shelby was feeling left out, so here are a few pictures of her that I have taken this week!

Shelby with Dustin on his first day!

So far, We have had an awesome week of school. Dustin is loving it! Shelby is "trying" to help me in the library and I am getting "some" work done. I can't believe summer is really over... so sad!!!
